Subhash Ghai produced the 2004 film, which was directed by the Abbas-Mustan duo, and for the second part, the producer has roped in director Amit Rai. He said, "I have heard a fantastic script from Oh My God 2 writer-director Amit Rai, which has now been rewritten as Aitraaz 2. We are getting so many calls from various studios that they are interested in making the film. And I must say Amit has a big hit script this time once again. I really liked it."

The film will be based on social issues

Aitraaz depicts a bold and poignant issue of sexual harassment at workplace. When Subhash was asked if the sequel will be based on a similar concept, he said, "The subject is Amit Rai's. He has written another bold issue about today's sexual life, which includes new values ​​and new ideologies. You can't expect it to be just a social drama, it should have some strong and high notes. We are excited to start the film."
