Suniel Shetty on Border 2 Absence: 'If Bhairon Singh Isn't There, Ahan Will Be'

Border 2: Everyone is eagerly waiting for the sequel of JP Dutta's film Border. The sequel of 'Border' is going to be released next year. Along with Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Suniel Shetty's son Ahan Shetty will also be seen in the film. Recently, Suniel Shetty talked about not being a part of Border 2. Let us tell you that in the 1997 blockbuster directed by JP Dutta, based on the 1971 India-Pakistan War, Sunil Shetty played the role of Captain Bhairon Singh, who was martyred on the battlefield.

Suniel Shetty shares his thoughts on not being a part of Border 2

Actually, Sunil Shetty was asked about the sequel of Border during an interview and asked if he is missing it. Answering this, Sunil Shetty said, "Yes and no... no because my son is doing it. If there is no Bhairon Singh, at least there will be Chota Ahaan".

Suniel Shetty further said that all his 'favourite stars' are a part of this film. Talking about Sunny Deol, Shetty said, "I like him a lot and whenever we work together, we both get along very well with each other. Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty together are like magic. Varun takes care of Ahan like a senior and friend. Whenever he comes home from shooting, he tells me. 'Papa, Varun is a very nice person.' I think relationships are like this. We all have a lot of work, we just have to work together and take our industry forward. This is the need of the hour."

Earlier, announcing his association with 'Border 2', Ahan Shetty had posted on Instagram, "Border is more than a film - it's a legacy, an emotion and a dream come true. Ironically, that's how life works - my journey with 'Border' began 29 years ago when mom came to visit dad on the sets while she was pregnant with me. I grew up listening to amazing stories from OP Dutta, holding JP Uncle's hand and sitting next to @nidhiduttaofficial. I never realized how much those moments would shape my love for cinema and the Indian Armed Forces. Now, to be a part of Border 2 is a huge honour."

'Border 2' will be released on 23 January 2026 

'Border 2' stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty. Diljit Dosanjh will probably not be included, who has reportedly opted out of the project. 'Border 2' will be released on January 23, 2026. It is being described as India's biggest war film till date. 'Border 2' is being produced by the powerful production team of Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta's JP Films and directed by Anurag Singh, the sequel is set to carry forward the legacy of the iconic original while delivering a spectacular cinematic experience.
