Suspect Arrested for Threatening to Bomb Anant and Radhika's Wedding

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's younger son Anant Ambani got married with great pomp on 12th July. A suspicious post was shared on social media about a bomb threat at the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. After which Mumbai Police had increased security at the wedding. Now Mumbai Police has arrested a 32-year-old engineer from Vadodara in this case on charges of bomb threat.

According to news agency PTI, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Mumbai Police arrested a 32-year-old engineer for posting on social media about a bomb threat at the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The accused has been identified as Vadodara resident Viral Shah. Speaking to the portal, a police officer said, "He was arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch from his house in Gujarat this morning." During the investigation, the user was traced to Vadodara, following which a team of Mumbai Crime Branch was sent to the city in the neighboring state and the accused was taken into custody, the officer said, adding that the accused is being brought to Mumbai.

Police increased security after receiving threats

Let us tell you that a 32-year-old engineer from Vadodara wrote on Twitter, "A shameless thought came to my mind that if a bomb explodes at Ambani's wedding, half the world will be turned upside down. Trillions of dollars in one pin code." As soon as the Mumbai Police came to know about this post, they considered the bomb threat to be a rumor. Security measures were also increased around the wedding ceremony in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex.

On the other hand, Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, married Radhika Merchant on July 12. A grand wedding ceremony was held at the Jio World Convention Center. The wedding was attended by celebrities from around the world, including businessmen, entertainment, sports and political figures. After the wedding, the couple held an Aashirwad ceremony, Shubh Aashirwad, on June 13 and then a grand reception for many guests, including social media influencers, on July 14.
