Ranya Rao Caught Smuggling: Kannada actress Ranya Rao seems to be in trouble. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested Kannada actress Ranya Rao at Kempegowda Airport. The police have recovered 14.8 kg of gold from the actress. It is being told that the actress was bringing gold from Dubai to Bangalore by hiding it in her body.
Ranya Rao will remain in judicial custody for 14 days
Let us tell you that Ranya Rao is the daughter of Director General of Police (Police Housing Corporation) Ramachandra Rao. On investigation, it was found that she had cleverly hidden gold bars weighing 14.2 kg on her body. Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested her on Monday night at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on charges of smuggling gold. After being arrested on Monday night, Ranya Rao was produced before a special court handling financial crimes, which sent her to judicial custody for 14 days. Before appearing in court, she was sent for a medical checkup at Bowring Hospital as per legal protocol.
Ranya Rao has gone to Dubai four times in a day
According to officials, Ranya Rao was under surveillance due to her international travels. As per reports, she has visited Dubai four times within 15 days. This is the reason why enforcement agencies have raised suspicion on her. As a result, she was roped in for a well-planned operation on her return, which resulted in her arrest at the Bengaluru airport around 7 pm.
