Telangana Minister Apologizes to Samantha & Naga for Divorce Comments

South cinema couple Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya got divorced by mutual consent in the year 2021. At the same time, recently Telangana Minister Konda Surekha gave a controversial statement on the divorce of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya also criticized Konda Surekha's statement a lot. Meanwhile, now Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has apologized to Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya for her statement.

Surekha has apologised after receiving criticism from the South film industry. The Telangana minister took back her statement about Samantha by posting on her x (Twitter) handle. She wrote in Telugu, "My intention was just to point out how a leader is insulting women, but not to hurt your feelings, Samantha. I appreciate the way you have carried yourself and wish the same. If you or your fans have been hurt by my words, I take them back unconditionally. Please do not take it otherwise".

Konda Surekha gave this statement

Minister Konda Surekha initially said that KTR, son of former Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao, was the main reason for the divorce between Samantha and Chaitanya. "KTR was the reason behind Naga Chaitanya and Samantha's divorce..." the minister said. She claimed that KTR used to blackmail female stars in the film industry. He was harassing them by trying to make them drug addicts. She also alleged that KTR is the reason why many female actors leave the Telugu film industry and get married during their career.

Samantha responded to Konda Surekha's statement

Earlier, Samantha issued a statement criticising the minister and asking him to keep his name away from petty politics. Sharing a story on Instagram, she said, "Being a woman, coming out and working, surviving in a glamorous industry where women are often treated as props, falling in love and falling out of love, yet standing up and fighting. It takes a lot of courage and strength. Konda Surekha garu, I am proud of what this journey has made me, please don't underestimate it. I hope you realise that as a minister your words are very important. I request you to be responsible and respect the privacy of individuals. Can you please keep my name away from political battles? I have always been apolitical and want to remain so".

Naga Chaitanya gave his statement

Along with this, Naga Chaitanya released his official statement on this controversy on his social media handle. He wrote, "The decision to divorce is definitely one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions. After much thought, my former spouse and I decided to separate by mutual consent. It was a decision taken peacefully in the interest of our different life goals and moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults, however, there have been many baseless and completely ridiculous rumors on this matter so far. I have remained silent on all this out of deep respect for my first husband and my family. Today, the claim made by Minister Konda Surekha Garu is not only false, but it is completely ridiculous and unacceptable. Women should get support and respect. It is shameful to take advantage of and exploit the personal life decisions of celebrities for media headlines."

Nagarjuna criticized the statement of Konda Surekha 

Veteran actor Nagarjuna also criticized Konda Surekha's statement. He wrote, "I strongly condemn the comments of Minister Konda Surekha. Do not use the lives of film stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people's privacy. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and allegations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately."
