In a statement issued from his office, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, " The release of the second part of 'The Kerala Story, ' which was made with the agenda of spreading hatred against Kerala and insulting our secular traditions, should be taken seriously. They are spreading false propaganda by portraying even consensual marriages as examples of communalism and forced religious conversion."

He also alleged that forces are trying to destroy the peace and harmony of the region. He further said, “They view Kerala with hostility because it is a land free from communal riots, where people of different religions live together with mutual respect and cooperation. These forces, which try to destroy the peace and brotherhood of our land, are the real enemies of our state. Together, we must reject attempts to portray Kerala, a land of religious harmony, a leader in sustainable development, and a model in maintaining law and order, as a hub of terrorism. It is our responsibility to ensure that false propaganda does not harm the secular foundations of Kerala and to reject it by upholding the values of secularism and brotherhood.”
