Whose 99th birth anniversary was celebrated yesterday (Dec 14th) with revered enthusiasm by all his loyal Indian and NRI fans  “ The show must go on”, music-savvy iconic film-maker  Raj Kapoor had always said. Very interesting to note that  ‘late’ legend  Raj Kapoor was also known as “Ranbir Raj Kapoor”  and the success show is going on !

Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' Triumph: Racing to Rs 1000 Crores Globally

Coinciding with the start of great actor-director Raj-saab’s ‘Centenary Year’  mega-star grandson  Ranbir Kapoor has lived up to the Raj Kapoor super-success-ratio legacy. The charismatic Ranbir whose latest movie Animal is a mega-blockbuster is racing towards Rs 1000 Crores worldwide box-office collections. We are sure legendary Raj-saab is watching from above with a sense of glorious pride that his super-talented grandson is setting new phenomenal box-office records.

During his lifetime, ‘late’ Rishi Kapoor was always proud of his star son Ranbir’s acting talent. Whenever I would meet my friend Rishi-jee at R K Studios at filmy parties, he would also speak with pride about his son’s excellent acting talent potential.  In fact, Rishi-jee was particularly proud of son Ranbir’s deaf-and-mute character’s brilliant performance in the Hindi movie Barfi (2012) directed by Anurag Bose.. It may be recalled that Ranbir won multiple ‘Best Actor’ awards for ‘Barfi’ and the same film ‘Barfi’ was sent to the Oscar Academy Awards as India’s official entry in the Foreign Language category   

As actor Ranbir Kapoor's movie 'Animal' was released successfully in theatres, his actress mother Neetu Kapoor posted a wistful comment on how she wished that her late actor-husband Rishi Kapoor could watch their son's impressive performance. Ranbir's mother and veteran actress Neetu  to shared a picture of Ranbir on social media and wrote, "Wish Rishi-ji was here."

Sadly, Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30 in the year 2020 at the age of 67 after suffering from a critical terminal illness The zinda dil  Rishi,  was in New York for a considerable amount of long time for his treatment. Wife Neetu was there for him as a rock-solid partner all through.

Blockbuster movie 'Animal' ( also a musical super-hit) helmed by Southside showman director Sandeep Reddy Vanga also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandana, Shakti Kapoor and Tripti Dimri and Suresh Oberoi. Action-violence-packed 'Animal' showcases a gripping story about a volatile love-hate father-son relationship, played by Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir's character is protective and obsessive about his father's love and is seen threatening everybody who comes in the way of his intense love for his father.
