UP's International Film City Draws Praise from Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the ambitious project of Uttar Pradesh's first International Film City, spearheaded by filmmaker Boney Kapoor and the Bhutani Group. During a recent investors' summit, Kapoor showcased the project to Modi, highlighting its features and ambitious vision.

Boney Kapoor studied film cities worldwide

The Film City, planned in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, aims to be a one-stop destination for filmmakers, both Indian and international. Kapoor informed the Prime Minister that his vision was shaped after studying film cities worldwide.

Will have every needed amenities

Key features of the project include permanent sets resembling prominent religious sites and international locations, five-star hotels, theme parks, studios, and a golf course. This comprehensive setup aims to accommodate over 30 film productions simultaneously, offering versatile shooting floors, equipment, and other amenities.

This will be a one-stop solution

Modi expressed hope that the Film City would surpass global standards and set a benchmark in the industry. Kapoor's passion and detailed planning seem to have struck a chord, potentially marking a significant development in India's film landscape.

“I explained how the project is being designed after conducting a comprehensive study of film cities worldwide, and how this will offer a one-stop solution to both national and international filmmakers where they will come up with their ideas, create entire films, and depart once the project is completed,” said Kapoor.

From studios to temples, everything will be there

“We have made an effort to showcase the features of the Film City at the stall. In the Film City, we are planning to establish various permanent sets, including a theme park, amusement park, studios, golf club, and major temples. Visitors to the stall can catch a glimpse of the artistic representation of these features. Through the use of curved screens, one can experience what the Film City might look like in the future,” said Rajeev Arora GM of Bayview Projects.
