The 17-page complaint filed at the Bandra Police Station on September 3 details the claims made by Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment, accusing Ali Abbas Zafar of "embezzling subsidy money taken from Abu Dhabi authorities" during the shooting of the film.

These allegations arise from their involvement in the production of the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (BMCM). The complainant claims that Zafar and his associates misrepresented their abilities and mismanaged the production of the film, causing significant financial losses. They are accused of increasing the budget, taking bribes, fabricating invoices, and withdrawing funds through a shell company in Abu Dhabi. In addition, Bhagnani claims that despite assurances, the accused mishandled contracts failed to provide proper financial records, and demanded payments without approval. Along with this, Bhagnani has sought legal action due to claims of extortion, coercion, and defamation.

Meanwhile, in June, several crew members accused the production house, Pooja Entertainment, of not paying them on time. Crew member Ruchita Kamble wrote a long post on Instagram, in which she urged others not to work with the production house. BN Tiwari, president of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), also claimed that Vashu Bhagnani owes over ₹65 lakh to crew members who worked on his three films - Mission Raniganj, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
