Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in theatres on 11 April. The film proved to be a flop at the box office. Now Vashu Bhagnani and Jackie Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment have filed a complaint against Ali Abbas Zafar that he grabbed subsidy money from Abu Dhabi officials during the shooting of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Ali Abbas Zafar accused of fraud
Let us tell you that Ali Abbas Zafar directed the action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, which flopped badly earlier this year. The 17-page complaint filed at the Bandra Police Station on September 3 details the claims made by Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment, accusing Ali Abbas Zafar of "embezzling subsidy money taken from Abu Dhabi authorities" during the shooting of the film.
The complainants demanded legal action
At the same time, the complainants have accused Ali Abbas Zafar, Himanshu Mehra, Akesh Ranadive, and others of several serious crimes including cheating, fraud, misappropriation of funds, criminal conspiracy, money laundering, and harassment. These allegations arise from their involvement in the production of the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (BMCM). The complainant claims that Zafar and his associates misrepresented their abilities and mismanaged the production of the film, causing significant financial losses. They are accused of increasing the budget, taking bribes, fabricating invoices, and withdrawing funds through a shell company in Abu Dhabi. In addition, Bhagnani claims that despite assurances, the accused mishandled contracts failed to provide proper financial records, and demanded payments without approval. Along with this, Bhagnani has sought legal action due to claims of extortion, coercion, and defamation.
Ali Abbas Zafar had accused him of paying so many crores
According to a report, Ali Abbas Zafar had accused the producers of not paying him ₹7.30 crore, which he said was his fee for directing Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Meanwhile, in June, several crew members accused the production house, Pooja Entertainment, of not paying them on time. Crew member Ruchita Kamble wrote a long post on Instagram, in which she urged others not to work with the production house. BN Tiwari, president of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), also claimed that Vashu Bhagnani owes over ₹65 lakh to crew members who worked on his three films - Mission Raniganj, Ganapath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
