Vedaa: John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh starrer Vedaa is scheduled to release on August 15. However, the film has not yet received approval from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). On Thursday, July 25, the film's director Nikhil Advani shared a post on his Instagram handle and informed about this. At the same time, the makers urged the censor board officials to resolve this "unusual delay" so that the film can be released in theaters.
The makers are waiting for the approval of the censor board
Let us tell you that Nikhil Advani shared a post on his Instagram handle and wrote, "We, the producers of Veda are bound to share with our fans and supporters that despite our best efforts, we are still yet to receive approval and certification from the CBFC of India." The producers claimed that they had submitted the film to the censor board after which it was forwarded for review by the revision committee "without any explanation". However, since then they have been waiting for the formation of the committee but there has been no progress so far.
Veda's makers followed the protocol
The makers wrote in their post, "Following the protocol, we applied for the certificate eight weeks before the scheduled release. Our film was screened for CBFC on June 25. Thereafter, we were pushed to a revised committee review without any explanation as to what the concerns or objections of the esteemed examining committee were. Since then, we have waited patiently for the formation of a revised committee, impressed upon all the respected and honorable functionaries, and repeatedly lodged our appeals for certification, consideration, or even clarifications. Despite this unusual delay, we have full faith in the existing system and are confident that the CBFC will oblige us in the right manner."
Veda is inspired by current events
Veda makers requested the concerned authorities to look into the matter and resolve it on a priority basis. The statement further said, "August 15 is a special date on which we feel fortunate to be in a position to bring our film to the fans of John Abraham and Nikkhil Advani, who supported our previous releases Satyameva Jayate and Batla House on the same date. Veda is a strong, entertaining film, inspired by current events. We believe it deserves to reach its audience. It is our sincere effort that we will be able to keep our appointment with you."
These films will clash with Veda
Apart from John Abraham, Veda will also star Abhishek Banerjee and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles. The film will also feature Tamannaah Bhatia. Veda is scheduled to hit the theatres on August 15, 2024. This means it will clash at the box office with Rajkummar Rao and Tamannaah Bhatia's Stree 2 and Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein.
