Rakesh Pandey Passes Away: Veteran actor of Hindi and Bhojpuri films Rakesh Pandey is no more among us. He breathed his last at the age of 79 on Friday (March 21) at 8.51 am in his residence in Juhu, Mumbai. Actor Rakesh Pandey started his film career with the film 'Saara Aakash' released in 1969. The film 'Saara Aakash' released in 1969 was based on the novelist Rajendra Yadav's novel. This film was awarded the President's Award.
The Bhojpuri film 'Balam Pardesiya' released in 1979 set new records of success and revived the dying Bhojpuri films of that era. The hero of this Bhojpuri film was Rakesh Pandey.
Rakesh Pandey Filmy Career
If seen, in the 60s when actor Rakesh Pandey made his debut in films, he was called Dilip Kumar among the visitors of that time. Those who have seen superstar Rajesh Khanna's film 'Amar Prem', would remember the character of Anand Babu's wife's brother who goes to Pushpa (Sharmila Tagore) and asks her to stop Anand Babu from coming to her. Actor Rakesh Pandey was successful in impressing the cinema audience in his small role. Even the famous producers and directors of Bollywood started paying attention to him in that era.
Actor Rakesh Pandey, born in Himachal Pradesh in 1946, completed his studies in Shamsher High School, Nahan (Himachal Pradesh), after doing matriculation in 1961, he completed his studies in JRR College (Himachal Pradesh) and After completing his graduation degree from Bharatendu Academy of Dramatic Arts, he turned towards Indian Film and Television Institute (Pune). After completing his acting course from here in 1966, he joined IPTA and became active in the world of theatre. Actor Rakesh Pandey, who was interested in cultural programs since childhood, also had deep knowledge of English, Hindi, Brajbhasha, Bhojpuri and regional languages prevalent in other states of the country. Actor Rakesh Pandey had worked in 80 Bhojpuri films as hero and character actor and had also directed two Bhojpuri films. He has also received the Life Time Achievement Award in the fourth Bhojpuri Award Ceremony. Along with this, he was honored by the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy by giving him the Dadasaheb Samman Patra and a memento for his special contribution to Bhojpuri films.
