Veteran Actress Kamini Kaushal Passes Away at 98, Film Industry Mourns

Veteran Bollywood actress Kamini Kaushal has passed away at the age of 98. Her real name was Uma Kaushal. According to media reports, Kamini Kaushal had been suffering from age-related problems for a long time. However, no official statement has been issued by her family yet. The actress's death has sent shockwaves through the film industry.

In 2021, Dharmendra posted an old photo with Kaushal from an event. Recalling their first meeting, he shared fond memories with Kaushal. After a long hiatus, Kamini Kaushal played Shah Rukh Khan's grandmother in the film "Chennai Express." She last appeared in Aamir Khan's "Laal Singh Chaddha" (cameo) and played Shahid Kapoor's grandmother in "Kabir Singh."

Kamini Kaushal was Bollywood's highest-paid actress from the 1940s to the 1960s. In 1956, she received the Best Actress award for "Biraj Bahu." In 2015, she was honored with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2020, Kamini Kaushal also received a Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Shahid Kapoor's film "Kabir Singh."
