Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, who is currently awaiting the release of his next film Bad Newz, opened up about the struggles his family faced during the initial days and revealed that his father Sham Kaushal had once even thought of ending his life Vicky also spoke about how despite having a good job he chose to pursue acting
Father wanted to die
Vicky revealed that his family hails from a small village in Punjab and despite having an MA degree in English literature, his father was unemployed. "We had no land in Punjab. Once, after drinking with his friends, dad announced that he wanted to die," he said. The Masaan actor further added that his worried grandfather sent Sham Kaushal to Mumbai in 1978 and in the city, he was even willing to work as a sweeper to earn money. "My father's youth was full of struggles. There is no job security in this field. When you are working on a project, you wonder if you will get anything else," he added.
The family was happy when he got the job
Vicky revealed that after scoring good marks in college and getting a job, his parents were happy as they thought someone in the family would finally have a steady income and working life but fate had other plans and Vicky decided to pursue his passion for acting. He said, "I knew I couldn't do a traditional 9-5 job. I had an offer letter, I passed with good marks, but I knew I would get depressed if I went ahead with it." Vicky started his acting career in 2012 with the film Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and today, he is one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood.
