Anmol and Rohit are absconding since the Mumbai Police named them in the charge sheet related to the case earlier this month. Keeping this in mind, Special Judge BD Shelke of Maharashtra Organized Crime Control Act (MCOCA) cases issued a permanent non-bailable warrant against Anmol and Godera.

The incident happened a day after reports emerged that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi had given a nine-minute-long "motivational" speech to the shooters before they opened fire at the Bollywood superstar's house. Reportedly, the chargesheet filed by the Mumbai Police's crime branch mentioned that Anmol Bishnoi had told the two shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, that they should do the job "well" as it would "write history". According to the Mumbai Police chargesheet, he told the shooters, "Do this job well. After the job is done, you guys will write history." Anmol Bishnoi said, "Don't be afraid at all while doing this job. Doing this work means bringing change in society." The speech was given through an audio message, but the shooters were told to "shoot in such a way that Salman Khan gets scared". They were also asked not to wear helmets and not to smoke cigarettes to look fearless.

On June 4, 2024, Salman Khan recorded his statement with the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch. In his statement, Salman Khan claimed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was trying to kill him. While recording his statement, Salman Khan said, "In April this year, shots were fired outside Khan's Galaxy Apartment in Bandra area of ​​Mumbai. Later, it was reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the attack, as the gangster's brother Anmol Bishnoi took responsibility for the firing incident through a Facebook post. Earlier, Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang had talked about killing me and my family in one of their interviews. Salman said, "I am sure that Lawrence Bishnoi, with the help of his gang members, did this firing when my family members were sleeping. Their plan was to kill me and my family members".

The firing happened on April 14

On April 14, Vicky Kumar Gupta and Sagar Pal fired 5 rounds outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartment. The very next day, the police arrested Vicky Gupta, Sagar Pal, Sonu Kumar Bishnoi, Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary, Harpal Singh, and later Anuj Kumar Thapan. However, Anuj committed suicide in jail. After this, the gangster's brother Anmol Bishnoi took responsibility for the firing incident through a Facebook post.
