When Chunky Pandey got money to attend the funeral

Popular Bollywood stars Shakti Kapoor, Govinda and Chunky Pandey appeared as guests on the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show. Everyone had a lot of fun and jokes during the show. During the conversation, Chunky Pandey shared a particularly amusing story from his early acting days. The actor shared that he inadvertently reached a funeral while he was trying to earn extra income by participating in the program.

Chunky Pandey shared a funny anecdote

Let us tell you that while sharing this funny thing, Chunky Pandey said, “When I was starting out as an actor, we had only one source of extra income and that was attending events. I used to have a bag ready, whoever called me, I would run with my bag. Be it a wedding, birthday or even a mundan ceremony. One morning, I got a call from an organizer. He asked, 'What are you doing today?' I told him, 'I am just going for a shoot'. He asked me where he was and I told him he was in Film City. Then he said, 'Brother, there is a small event on the way, for 10 minutes, come, the money is good.' I said sure. Then he asked me, 'If you are coming, come wearing white clothes.' I did not think much, wore white clothes and landed at the venue.

Chunky Pandey said this

Continuing his story, Chunky Pandey further said, "I reached and saw many people standing outside wearing white clothes. I slowly went inside and people were staring at me. They were whispering among themselves that Chunky Pandey has come and I was wondering what is happening. I saw the dead body and I realized that I am at a funeral. I was naive and I thought that by the time I reach, the organizer would have died. I saw the organizer in the corner and called him. He said, 'Sir, don't worry, your packet (of money) is with me. But the family said that if you cry, they will give you more money.' This really happened".

Chunky Pandey's film career

Chunky Pandey made his acting debut with the 1987 film Aag Hi Aag and has since appeared in over 100 films in his three-decade-long career. His notable roles include hits such as Tezaab, Aankhen, Tirchhi Topiwale, De Dana Dan and the Housefull franchise. However, with actors like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn rising to stardom, Chunky found it challenging to secure lead roles in Hindi films.
