Biswajeet-da Chatterjee exclusively share

Here in Mumbai city, veteran lead star hero, actor, film-maker and singer Biswajeet-da Chatterjee is delighted to exclusively share with  bollyy.com and Mayapuri in a 'fond-flashback', that he has played the sacred role of Lord Rama in this mythological super-hit retro movie ‘Bajrangbali’ (1976). Recalls the ‘Main Sundar Hoon’ (1971) hero  Biswajeet-da, “It was an honor for me to play the sacred role of Lord Rama with Moushumi Chatterje playing Sita-jee in ‘mythological movie Bajrangbali (1976) directed by Chandrakant-jee. In this movie Dara Singh-jee played the title role while Prem Nath-jee was cast as Raavan,” informs the ‘Kohraa’ lead actor.

Was it not risky for Biswajeet-da to defy his screen-mage with a revered mytho-character, since he was very popular and famous as the romantic, suspense-mystery hero in super-hit thriller musical movies like ‘Bees Saal Baad’ and ‘Kohraa’ and ‘Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayegi’?  After a mild laughter, Biswajit responds, “That’s quite true. But more than me, some of my upcoming movie producers seemed worried, about whether my image would get affected after playing a mytho-character. Being a seasoned versatile stage actor, and a staunch bhakt of Lord Rama and Maa Durga, I was confident and also daring, that my image would not be affected. I had already played the screen role of Lord Krishna in one of my initial career Bengali movies called ‘Kangsa’ (1958). Must share with you that ‘Bajrangbali’ released and emerged a super-hit, whenever I went out for events and in public places, people would come to take my blessings as they had all appreciated my playing Lord Rama’s character so convincingly on-screen,” discloses super-hit ‘Mere Sanam’  and ‘Kismat’  movies handsome star-hero Biswajeet-Da.
