Farhan Akhtar surprised everyone last year by releasing a teaser of the film Don 3 and confirmed that Ranveer Singh will be the new Don. Many were disappointed with this announcement and netizens urged the filmmaker to bring Shah Rukh back.

Later in an interview, Farhan Akhtar broke his silence on the criticism he received for replacing Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3. He said, “I am really excited to start it. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He is great for the role. As you can imagine, he is really excited and really nervous too, the fact that you are replacing some big people before you. But when Shah Rukh did it we went through the same emotional process and everyone was like 'Oh my god, how can you replace Mr Bachchan?' This whole thing happened then”.

Talking about Don 3, the first look of the film was shared last year. The teaser starts with an apartment in front of the breathtaking skyline of a city, in which Ranveer Singh's voice comes from the background, "Sher, when will the one who is sleeping wake up, everyone asks this. Tell them that I have woken up again and then come out quickly". Fans got very excited after watching this teaser. Apart from Ranveer, Kiara Advani will also be a part of Don 3. This film will hit the theaters in 2025.
