Although the talented, beautiful star-actress Divya Khossla-Kumar is the wife of movies-and-music tycoon Bhushan Kumar ( “T-Series”)  she does not have any ego-issues. Yes, the modest Divya directly approached veteran young-at-heart film producer Mukesh Bhatt and convincing him that was the right choice for playing the title-role ‘Savi: A Bloody Housewife,’ when the casting was not finalized.

The basic theme of movie ‘Savi’ is inspired by the mytho-epic tale of Sati Savitri where revered deity Savitri –Devi saves husband Satyavan’s from dying early, after getting a life-extension boon for him from Yama—the God of Death.

Recalling his major decision to cast Divya Khossla-Kumar in the title- role, veteran Mukesh Bhatt shared a heartfelt justification of her passion, dedication and screen-performance. “If you ask me what made me decide that only Divya can play this Savi role - was her sincerity and honesty with which she came to me. She appealed to me, 'Please let me do this role, and I promise you I won’t let you down.' That moment of  Divya’s sincerity completely swept me off my feet. That is the most important thing. I knew that she will go that extra hundred miles to deliver what is expected out of this intense rebel daring female character. SAVI’s trailer showcases the journey of a woman trying to save her husband. As a mother and a homemaker, she bravely battles many hurdles, but what remains to be seen is whether Divya's character will succeed in saving her husband. Other than Divya, the film also stars Harshvardhan Rane as the husband and Anil Kapoor in an unusual flamboyant role 

Music-savvy Mukesh Bhatt’s production banner ‘Vishesh Films’ movies have always been known for its memorable, melodious songs whether its ‘Aashiqui; or ‘Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nain’ or even ‘Sadak’, Ghulam, or even ‘Murder’. “ This time too in ‘Savi, we have songs which are melodious and haunting. For me there is this also this fantastic song recorded by the ‘late’ singer KK, It was among his last songs and he passed away a week later. Besides being a extraordinary singer, KK also shared a friendly personal bonding with me and has recorded great songs for my previous films in the past,” disclosed Mukesh.  

Divya's striking compelling performance in the trailer and teasers has caught public attention, but creative genius Abhinay Deo’s  ( of ‘Delhi Belly’ and Colors TV series ‘24’ fame) smart storytelling is also what grips the viewers in this stylishly shot slick action-thriller. An Abhinay Deo-directed film, SAVI is produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, under the banners of Vishesh Films and T-Series. Shiv Chanana and Sakshi Bhatt have joined in as co-producers. The film is an edge of the seat thriller - action; however, to know what is the story behind a simple housewife taking on such a risky daring mission of a British jail-break and whether she succeeds will be revealed when the movie releases in theatres on Friday, May 31, 2024.
