In a recent conversation, Zayed Khan said that Zidane suffered a major breathing attack in London, due to which he came into a life-and-death situation.
Zayed Khan shared an anecdote related to his son's health
In fact, in his recent interview, Zayed Khan told how his elder son Zidane Khan had to struggle with a major breathing problem during childhood and adolescence. He said, "My elder son Zidane had a major breathing problem at the age of 3. We were in London when he had a very bad attack. He came to me and said, 'Papa help me, I am not able to breathe.' When it comes to medical emergencies, my wife is very strong and she immediately called the ambulance, which arrived in 15 minutes. It was a life and death situation."
When Zayed Khan's son was in a dying condition
Zayed Khan further added, "The nurse shook her head at us, indicating that she wasn't sure if Zidane would survive. She took out an adrenaline injection and asked my permission to inject Zidane. I have to give credit to London's healthcare system. They immediately called four doctors from across the city to the hospital. They were ready to perform surgery where they would have to slit his throat if the steroids didn't work. We were in great pain because there is nothing worse than the thought of losing a child. Thankfully, after a few hours the steroids started working and they didn't have to do surgery."
'My son is the fittest kid now'- Zayed Khan
Zayed Khan also revealed that after the incident, all the doctors told him that Zidane will have to live with the condition and will never be a completely healthy child. However, Zayed did not let this diagnosis dominate his son's life. He encouraged Zidane to participate in outdoor activities like parkour and high jump. The actor shared that his son is now the fittest kid and has a "great body". He said, "He has defied every doctor who told him that he cannot do certain things."
Zayed Khan went through a depression
Zayed explained that the breathing problems in London were not an isolated incident. Although Zidane eventually overcame the disease, he was in and out of the ICU from the age of 5 to 15. Zayed admitted that watching his son suffer for so long led him to depression. "I went through a lot of depression at that time. I prayed to God, 'You can do this to him. Take me but don't do this to him.' It was very unjust for a child to go through something like this".
