New Update

Leena Chandavarkar got married. She left Babul's house and went to Piya's house.

Just a few days ago, when she celebrated her engagement anniversary, people asked- "When will the marriage happen now?" Leena smiled and simply said, "When the time comes."

Perhaps the moment was awaited. The time of auspicious time came on Monday, December 8 at quarter to six.

Leena Chandavarkar and Siddharth put garlands around each other's necks with the auspicious pronunciation of Rigvedi Pandit Dinkar Bhatt's 'Ashwalayan Grihaya Sutras' amidst the rasphari tone of shehnai. They became life partners forever.

This marriage was solemnized in Tejpal Hall according to the Vedic method. Many types of editions were completed, which started at 9 am itself.

I reached the hall decorated with banana leaves and flowers at exactly nine o'clock with photographer Suresh Jethwa of 'Mayapuri'. Shehnai was playing. The hall was fragrant with the smell of incense. Complete preparations had been made to bring Leena's groom Siddharth. There were coconut, tambul, akshat, kunkam, saffron, etc. on a plate. There were laddoos of gram flour, cashew and moong on a big plate. Veniyas were decorated on another plate. Leena's maternal uncle, aunt, her brother Anil, her sister-in-law and producer Gulukochar got down with those thalis and sat in a big motor decorated with flowers, there were many other photographers with us.

Siddharth and his family were staying at 'Akbar' on Narayana Dabholkar Road, a short distance from the hall of the marriage hall. First of all, Leena's sister-in-law applied Tilak to the bridegroom and offered a coconut in his hand. The maternal uncle sweetened his mouth, the sister-in-law applied perfume and only then gave the veniyas to the women. Brother hugged the groom after applying perfume.

As soon as this 'Shakun Sanskar' was over, all the people got down and went towards the hall sitting in flower-adorned motors. There was also a police jeep behind the motors. To see him, the motor convoy slowly moved forward with the smell of flowers blowing, so many people had gathered around the roads to see him.

As soon as they reached the hall, the baraatis were warmly welcomed. Leena's father sprinkled water on the groom from a tambul. Did Tilak, wore a Gandhi cap and hug him. Sister-in-law washed the groom's feet and gave a coconut in his hand. Leena's mother worshiped the affection of the groom. After this Manglik Puja, everyone went towards the hall.

As soon as Leena's groom entered the hall with his elder sister (Chief Minister of Govar) Shashikala Bandodkar and two other sisters Usha Bandodkar and Jyoti Bandodkar, shehnai echoed.

Near the entrance of the hall, the marriage hall was decorated with green leaves. The mandap decorated with Vanashree smelled of incense. It seemed as if the articles of worship of a sage were adorned and Pandit ji was sitting there chanting mantras.

Shortly after...!

Siddhartha sat first in the mandap. Leena's parents worshiped the groom with Pandit ji's chanting, sprinkled water on him, and applied tilak on him. After the worship, Leena's father made her wear a shining diamond ring.

The bride's worship is completed after the groom's worship. When Leena was brought to the mandap by her maternal uncle holding her hand, it seemed as if a godly girl was being brought to the mandap. Clad in glittering ornaments, confined in shame, drowned in emotions, touched and lost in dreams, today's beauty of Leena was such a beauty that has not come on the screen till now. Dressed in Goan and Maharashtrian costumes, Leena looked like a different Leena. Lightning-studded necklace around the neck, dangling pearls, bore on the forehead, bracelets, earrings in the hands… and then coconut in the hands. Today, in this beauty of Leena, the beauty of many good girls was shining together. As soon as she sat in the mandap, the tone of the shehnai became sweeter.

And then - Siddharth's elder sister Shashikala Bandodkar's elder sister wearing a nose ring, dressed in full Maharashtrian costume came to the mandap with a plate of worship. With a rosy smile, he applied tilak to the bride Leena, made her wear gajra, and green glass bangles, applied kajal tika, gave her a red saree and presented some jewelry. Similarly, the other two sisters of Siddharth also worshiped Leena.

The bride and groom took some rest after the worship. Breakfast was served to the guests.

Then a new scene:

Leena came to the wedding hall with Sehbala. First of all, she was welcomed by the family members of the groom. Later Siddhartha's sisters worshiped Leena according to the rites described in 'Grihastha Sutra'. Put Akshat on his forehead, then did Tilak, got him to grind urad with a domestic grinder. Water was sprinkled repeatedly from the tambul. Aarti was performed. Presented saree and comb. Put curd in the mouth.

After the initial rites of the bride, Siddharth came to the mandap wearing a dhoti-kurta and turban with his companion. First he touched the feet of his mother, then touched the feet of his sisters and bowed before his late father and sat in the mandap. The shehnai resounded once again. This time the groom's worship was duly performed by the bride's side. Sprinkled water from mango leaves. Poured curd in his mouth and performed his aarti. In this aarti, Leena's parents, brothers, maternal uncle and all relatives were present.

In this way, the rites of mutual relations between the bride and groom were duly completed.

And later - the bride and groom were brought to the mandap. In one corner, her family members were sitting with Leena and in the other direction, Siddharth was sitting with his family members. As soon as they entered the mandap, the bride and groom looked at each other with tears in their eyes - they looked at each other with all their heart - and then both got wrapped up in themselves. From the expressions of both, it seemed as if they were filled with the fragrance of meeting. In Leena's eyes, as if the sea of redness of Suhag was rising. This time the mantras were being chanted loudly by both the priest of the groom's side and the priest of the bride's side. Formal resolutions were made from both sides – and at the same time, the bride and groom made resolutions to tie the knot. This was the first chapter of marriage according to the scriptural method.

After that there was lunch – and after lunch rest.

But at exactly five o'clock in the evening, along with the shehnai, the police band also echoed, so some freshness came in the hall. Meanwhile, the look and feel of the mandap had changed. The mandap which was earlier decorated with green leaves now smelled of flowers. Between the skirting of colorful fruits and flowers and small red-yellow electric lights twinkling between the skirting, something new was tied up. Ganeshji of flowers was established in the background, whose beauty was something else. Once again the bride and groom were brought to the mandap. At this time his costumes were also changed. The pundits of both sides chanted mantras and in the midst of this chanting, threads of yarn were wrapped around both of them. This was a symbol of the sacred bond between the two.

After this sacred bond, both stood up. On one hand, Siddharth was standing with a garland shining with the fragrance of flowers, and on the other hand, Leena Chandavarkar was standing with a huge garland of flowers smelling of love for Swayamvar. There was a flimsy white curtain between the two. Everyone was standing. The clarinet was being played and the sound of the band had become louder. There was speed in the chanting of pundits as well. All the guests were standing in the hall with Akshat in their hands, meanwhile, the Pandit looked at the clock. It was a quarter past six - that's it - the priest removed the curtain with the pronunciation of the last verse - and in the blink of an eye, the bride and groom put garlands around each other's necks. People showered Akshat with thunderous applause - and amidst the atmosphere of happiness, Leena and Siddharth got married - forever...

But Leena's father-mother-brother-all the brothers-in-law were Sajal. The Ganges of Babul's love overflowed in Leena's eyes. Leena's father could not help but ran and hug Leena.

Leena left Babul's house...

And after this marriage - on the second day in the evening, there was a reception of the bride and groom at the Oberoi Hotel, which continued till 12 o'clock in the night. Many celebrities of the film came to congratulate the bride and groom, notable among them are Dilip Kumar, Saira, Hema, Atma Ram, Ravi Tandon, Sunil Dutt, Nargis, Sultan Ahmed, Mushir-Riaz, Mukri, Farida Jalal, Bindu etc. Before him, many artists came to Leena's house to congratulate her. This week the bride and groom went to Goa to celebrate Madhuratri. Leena has not yet decided whether she will work in films after marriage or not.
