LINKIN PARK SINGER CHESTER BENNINGTON PASSES AWAY

In a shocking turn of events, Linkin Park front man Chester Bennington was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Thursday morning. According to media reports, the singer hung himself and the police responded to a report about a suicide from a residence in the neighbourhood. A post-mortem examination has been initiated to investigate the matter.

Formed in 1996, Linkin Park has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and bagged two Grammy awards. For the 90s generation Linkin Park has been the staple music of sorts. It'd be really hard to find someone who hasn't heard In the End from their debut album Hybrid Theory. It sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and is still one of the highest selling albums of all time. And unarguably, the biggest distinction of Linkin Park was Chester Bennington's gravelling voice.

Mike Shinoda, one of Linkin Park's founders and Chester's close friend took to Twitter to speak on behalf of the band and tweeted:

Apart from Mike, the biggest names from the music industry expressed their grief on Twitter. Here's what they had to say.

Our deepest condolences go out to Chester's family and may his soul rest in peace.
