LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA HAS A NEW POSTER AND IT IS A SMASHING RESPONSE TO PATRIARCHY

Lipstick Under My Burkha dodged all the problems that were thrown its way and is now out with its new poster, which makes a bold statement to every misogynist whose opinions never mattered to us.

Lipstick under my Burkha is slated to release on the 21st of July ( passing sly smirks at patriarchy). The production house released its new poster and boy did it hurt a man’s ego? See for yourself. We bow down to every single person involved in designing and conceptualising this poster because we just couldn’t have imagined a better comeback.

With 10 international awards already in its kitty, the film is all set to enlighten Indians about women and their desires. The star cast includes names such as Konkona Sen Sharma and Ratna Pathak Shah who need no introduction and promising newcomers, Plabita Borthakur and Aahana Kumra.

The moment the poster was released, Twitter was abuzz with appreciation. Have a look at a few of them here and we promise it'll make your day.

The director is happy and so are we!

Oh Yes! We do!

Epic one indeed.

So are we!

To end, I'm sharing a few stills from the first trailer. Let’s imagine what the chauvinists would be thinking while watching it...

Is this picture intimidating or the fact that a woman with grey hair is wanting to indulge into something that’s not considered appropriate for women her age? Let’s not talk about the never ending urge of a 70-year-old man. Age no bar, eh?

Rosy has desires! Come Again? Rosy is a woman and how in the world is she allowed to have desires. Desires are for men. Women should wait for their partners to get back and then serve them what they like, only if asked though.

A still, that lives up to the title of the picture. Here’s this woman stealthily trying to apply lipstick under her Burkha because she can’t do this openly and if she happens to do the same, some dreadful consequences and confrontations await.

The misogynists have a problem with women dancing their heart out. Something as petty and irrelevant as this is an issue too. Wondering if there is any scope for the pea-sized ego of a man to become even smaller.

How can women have the freedom to express their sexual desires? They are here to merely satisfy a man’s ego and libido. Therefore, very conveniently the movie was denied certification on some pretty lame and absurd grounds by the CBFC.

Here’s the official statement released by the organisation. Go ahead and LOL at it.

"The story is lady oriented, their fantasy above life. There are contains sexual scenes, abusive words, audio pornography and a bit sensitive touch about one particular section of society".

We’d like to thank FCAT for intervening into this decision, Ekta Kapoor for having taken over the reins and making sure the movie gets its due and the basic right of reaching out to the public and to everybody who else who had a hand in making this possible.

We are all set for the first day first show. 21st July 2017.
