• There are only curtains in the washrooms as per the design of Lock Upp. The contestants will have to earn the curtains.

• There are Indian toilets in a section of the house, something that celebrities are not used to. There are normal bathrooms as well, but the contestants will have to earn the privilege to use them.
• The sleeping area is divided into two sections – one is a common sleeping area with bars all around, and the second is a personal sleeping area.

• The swimming pool has been converted into a dungeon area where contestants will receive their punishments.

• The kitchen is also locked up and has bars around it which will only open when Kangana Ranaut wishes.

• The challenge was to forget anything that had been done before and create something absolutely new. It was a challenge to have everyone forget anything else similar done before and be hooked to this new design.

• There was a lot of debate on how to create the individual rooms and the common sleeping room in Lock Upp.
• Omung Kumar especially designed the corridors around the sleeping area to give it the look of a real prison.

• Omung Kumar had done research for the movie Sarabjit previously while making jail cells and he depended on that to design the set of Lock Upp.

• There are a lot of hidden doors in Lock Upp which will open as the game progresses and contestants will slowly unravel the secrets hidden behind these doors.
