#EK TARFA PYAAR KI TAQAT: 10 BOLLYWOOD FILMS FEATURING ONE-SIDED LOVE!

Our Bollywood history is full of romantic flicks which are based on one of the most beautiful feelings in the world that is Love. Those love stories have definitely influenced us in some sense and many of us used those cheesy romantic dialogues to impress our love. Apart from those leading couple of our favourite romantic films, there are characters such as Anjali (Kajol) from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) from Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Rahul Mehra(SRK) from Darr, Rohit (Saif Ali Khan) from Kal Ho Na Ho are some of the films' characters who depicted the concept of Love triangles or one-sided love in the films. Many of our old Bollywood films beautifully showcase the one-sided love angle and in this article, we present you some of Bollywood films which featured one-sided love in last few years.

Let's revisit 11 Bollywood films based on one-sided love which were released in last few years.

1. Meri Pyaari Bindu (2017)

Director Akshay Roy’s first film Meri Pyaari Bindu explores the genres of friends becoming lovers. It has a tale of one-sided love of Abhimanyu Roy, played by  Ayushmann Khurrana who was a banker turned fiction writer. He is madly in love with his childhood crush Bindu, played by the bubbly Parineeti Chopra.

 

2. Raabta  (2017)

Debutant director Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh was a reincarnation tale. In the film, talented Jim Sarbh played the role of one-sided and obsessive lover who can do anything to marry his love played by Kriti Sanon. According to the story, he even took a rebirth to complete his previous birth love story.

3. Munna Michael (2017)

Another love triangle film was last year release Munna Michael which was directed by Sabbir was basically a film about dance and love. In the film,  Mahindar played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui was madly in love with a local dancer Dolly (Nidhhi Agerwal). He even tries to learn dancing to win Dolly's heart.

4. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016)

Karan Johar last directorial film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a story focussed on the confusion between one-sided love and friendship. As one of its dialogue, Ek tarfa pyar ki taqat hi kuch aur hoti hai ... auron ke rishton ki tarah yeh do logon mein nahi bat'ti ... sirf mera haq hai ispe, the film is about the one sided love. The first one-sided lover in the film was Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor) who falls in love with his friend Alizeh (Anushka Sharma)  but Alizeh has never seen him in that way. The second one-sided lover is Saba (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) who is in love with Ayan.

5. Happy Bhag Jayegi (2016)

Written and directed by Mudassar Aziz, Happy Bhag Jayegi is the story of Amritsari bride Happy (Diana Penty) who runs away on the day of her marriage ceremony. In this story, three men loved one woman Happy. The three lovers are Daman Singh Bagga (Jimmy Sheirgill), boyfriend Guddu (Ali Fazal) and  Bilal Ahmed (Abhay Deol). Jimmy and Abhay are one-sided lover of this story.

6. Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015)

The second instalment of hit film Tanu Weds Manu is a romantic comedy which is full of one-sided lovers. From Tanu look-alike, Datto (Kangana Ranauat) who loves Manu Sharma (R Madhavan),  Arun Kumar Singh played by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub also develop feelings for Tanu, Raja Awasthi (Jimmy Shergill) also loved Tanu.

7. PK (2014)

This science-fiction satire mainly concentrates on how people blindly believe in religion without questioning those who treat it as a business. But it also showcases the one-sided love of the alien PK (Amir Khan)  for Jaggu (Anushka Sharma).

8. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)

The film directed by Ayan Mukerji Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, which is mainly about friendships, love, and commitment also has one-sided love angle. Aditi (Kalki Koechlin) is deeply in love with Avinash (Aditya Roy Kapur) but never could express it to him.

9. Raanjhanaa (2013)

Directed by Anand L. Rai Raanjhanaa was an out and out love triangle, which dealt with different shades of love- be it jealousy, hatred, guilt, sympathy. Kundan played by Dhanush was in love with Zoya and his best friend Bindiya played by Swara Bhaskar was madly in love with him.

 

10. Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012)

Late Yash Chopra's last directorial venture, was a love story of Samar  (SRK) and Meera (Katrina Kaif). But Anushka Sharma's character, Akira too falls for Samar.

11. Cocktail (2012)

The film which was about love and friendship directed by Homi Adajania. The story about three friends starring Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty also showcased the one-sided love of Veronica played by Deepika Padukone for Gautam played by Saif Ali Khan.
