MAA KE PALLU MEIN SAARA JAHAAN, SAARI KAAYNAT AUR SAARI KHUDAAI HAI

I celebrate a rare festival whenever I see , hear or read something about mother, because in all my 70 years if there is one reality I have worshipped it is my mother and mother's mothers as a community without whom the world would not be what it is - ALI PETER JOHN

During this pandemic, I have been experiencing this beautiful relationship between mothers and their children but I have been seeing the most is the love between animals and their mothers, between birds and their mothers.

I don't know how many can relate or associate themselves with my feelings about mothers, but today morning I had the unique experience of my friend Anupam Kher talking about the greatness of a mother's pallu.

I have been admiring Anupam since the time I first saw him in a play called "Desire under the elms" and I have been proud to see him rise from a nobody to somebody who makes a difference to the world around.

Anupam has written two books and has spoken on various forums, but I have not found him more effective , emotional and eloquent than he is in what he says about maa ka pallu.

Without wasting any more of my words, let me have the privilege of giving you the words of Anupam in one of his very special moments....

" Darasal maa ke pallu ki baat hi niraali thi. Maa ka pallu , bachon ka paseena , aansoo ponchne ke liye toh istemaal kiya ho jaata tha par khaana khaane ke baad maa ke pallu se apna muh saaf karne ka apna hi ek mazaa hota tha.

Aur aankh mein dard hone pe maa apni saari ke pallu ko gol banaa kar ..phoo phoo phoonk maar ke garam karke jab aankh mein lagaati thi toh dard ussi samay pata nahi kahaan udaan choo ho jaata tha.
