MADHUR BHANDARKAR SLAMS KARAN JOHAR, ANURAG KASHYAP AND BHANSALI By Team Bollyy 01 Aug 2017 | Updated On 01 Aug 2017 06:00 IST in News & Gossip New Update Follow Us Share Indu Sarkar's director, Madhur Bhandarkar has quite a lot of reasons to be quite upset. First up, his historic drama has bombed at the box-office and to top it, nobody from the film fraternity came out to support him when his film was surrounded by controversies all over. Ever since the time the trailer of the film based on the horrors of the Emergency period 0f 1975 came out, Congress accused Madhur Bhandarkar of distorting history and the image of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. When Madhur and his team went to promote Indu Sarkar in Pune and Nagpur, they were stopped by Congress workers who protested and shouted slogans. After the film released, there were reports of shows being cancelled due to the protesting Congress workers. In an interview given to a leading entertainment portal, the director said that he is disappointed since he stood up for many film-makers when their films got into trouble. He mentioned how he stood up for Udta Punjab, produced by Anurag Kashyap, and Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, when both these films faced backlash from the CBFC and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena respectively. He also condemned the attack on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati . Yet, he said that none of these three filmmakers stood up for him. Well, it is indeed quite disheartening to see the current scenario in the film fraternity and we believe that the entire industry is like a family who should come out to support each other. #Anurag Kashyap #Karan Johar #Madhur Bhandarkar #Sanjay Leela Bhansali #Indu Sarkar Related Articles Advertisment Latest Stories Read the Next Article
