Actor and producer, John Abraham, has tweeted to show support for Indian Filmmaker, Anjali Bhushan’s documentary ‘My Home India’, which is competing with 159 nominations for Oscar 2020. He congratulated the Vice President-Creative for T-series on this remarkable milestone, and observed it as a proud and joyful moment for the country. Known for movies such as Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Batla House, and being the producer of eye-opening movies like Vicky Donor and Madras Café, John Abraham has always encouraged substantial story-telling in cinema.

Director Milap Zaveri was the first one to come forward in support of the documentary's participation at the Academy Awards. Known for his content-led commercial projects, Milap and Anjali bond a great deal over their passion for good cinema.Earlier this week, Elli AvrRam, a Swedish Greek actress based in Mumbai, India, had also expressed her support for the movie on her Instagram Story, during the LA screenings at Laemmle Town Center.

‘My Home India’ has already bagged several prestigious awards, such as Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival (2019), Impact Docs Awards (2019), Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival (2019), and River to River Florence Indian Film Festival (2019). It was also nominated for several others viz. Heartland International Film Festival (2019), Indian Film Festival, Stuttgart (2019), Jagran Film Festival (2019), and Polish Film Festival in America (2019).The shortlisted documentary feature films for the 92nd Academy Awards will be announced on Monday, December 16.

'My Home India' is a memoir of the little-known personal history of Kira Banasinska, the Polish woman who helped heal & house several thousands of Poles from Siberian Labor Camps during World War II in India, from 1942 to 1947. Based on research by Malgorzata Czausow, the film is co-produced by Film Polska, a leading Polish film production house. Indian Producer Pravesh Sippy, heralds as the Executive Producer.
