A lot had been said about Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan's divorce. While there was a lot of speculation about them sorting out their issues, all of it came to an end when both of them filed for divorce and got separated officially this May. Their 17-year long marriage eventually came to an end and while Arbaaz had confronted the media about it, Malaika continued to maintain her silence on this issue until recently, when she finally spoke about her divorce.
The ex-couple is still in good terms with each and Malaika even took to Instagram to wish him on his 50th birthday and was very much a part of the celebrations. Their families too have been spotted dining out and while their equations have changed, all is still the same between their families. Malaika spoke on how Arbaaz will always be an integral part of her life and that her family will always consider him a family member.
In an interview to Mid-Day, Mailaka said, "Arbaaz is a part of my family, the father of my child. Certain equations don't change overnight. The things that happened should remain between us. It's personal. We don't have to prove anything to anybody. Meeting (Arbaaz Khan) makes my son happy, and that makes me happy. For Amrita, he's like a brother, and he is a son to my parents. What happened is between us."
She didn't deny that it has been a difficult phase, further reinstating that "Arbaaz and I have known each other all our lives. It was emotionally difficult, but we haven't really talked about it because we are private individuals. He is very important to me. No matter what happens or where life takes us, Arbaaz will always be integral to my life," adding that son Arhaan has coped well because he is 'focused and level-headed'.
