A keen crowd of students listened on, as Malini Agarwal – Founder of Miss Malini Entertainment, delivered a spectacular speech at a TEDx event organized by NMIMS. Titled 'Social Media Is Broken and Only We Can Fix It’, the presentation revolved around her social media legacy and why positivity should be promoted on social media rather than criticism. Malini spoke about her journey from being a blogger who covered Bollywood gossip to a digital influencer, author and an entrepreneur. She also shared her insights on social media platforms that enabled her to understand the impact they had on her audience. Malini listed out her learnings from social media and presented them as rules that can be followed.The lessons she learnt, helped her build her brand, Miss Malini, which is widely known for its authentic, functional and vivacious content across Bollywood, lifestyle, fashion and beauty as well as her fast growing women's network Malini's Girl Tribe which has provided a safe space for women across the country to connect and support each other. Being an accomplished social media influencer herself, she was able to share actionable insights into this world. She encouraged brands to seek inspiration from global and local change makers who have made positive contributions around them and changed it for the better. Malini’s observations were received with substantial enthusiasm and appreciation.
