Mammootty is quite excited about the fact that his next Malayalam release Mamangam is being dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on day after tomorrow December 12. “I have earlier been part of historical Malayalam films like Vadakkan Veeragatha as well as Pakshi Raja, but the can vas in which Mamangam has been made is very different from this e films. Mamangam traces the period between 1600 and 1800 in an exhaustive manner and I’d say that it is a film which is very special to me and quiet close to my heart as an actor. There is a philosophy behind the film as it deals with a very contemporary issue with which you can easily relate to in your day to day life”, said Mammootty who is affectionately known as Mammookka by the audiences allover Kerala, at the trailer launch of the film held in Juhu at PVR. Not many are aware of the fact that this is not the first time that Mammootty will be seen in a Hindi film. The last time he was seen in a Hindi film was in Dharti Putra directed by Iqbal Durrani way back in 1996. Ironically, Sham Kaushal who happens to be the father of actor Vicky Kaushal had directed the action sequences of Dhartiputra too, and is the action director of Mamangam. Sham Kaushal said that though he was warned by the producer that Mammootty did not like to shoot after 11 pm every night, he was pleasantly surprised to note that Mammootty went out of his way to co-operate with him and shoot all the action sequences at night till they packed the shooting at 2 a.m.
