“Mary-Kom Part-2” Will Be Made: Mary Kom

Mary Kom is a personality to reckon with on the Sports ground as well she is known in B’town too. Her journey was shown on the celluloid by the most famous actress none other than Priyanka Chopra in the film titled,” “Mary Kom”.The film has been critically acclaimed as well was a Box office hit.

No sooner we sit down to chat with Mary Kom we ask her if she has been invited for Priyanka’s marriage reception held here in Mumbai?

Pat comes her reply,” Frankly speaking, I have been invited, but unfortunately, since, I have come here also to  support the campaign,” Khel India and Khel Kesari- Angan Se Akhade Tak “ which is all set to encourage the young girls to participate in Sports. Thus owing to my tight engagements connected to this Campaign I could not make it up for Priyanka’s wedding reception.’

We quiz further so have you at least messaged good wishes to Priyanka?

Mary Kom’s sincere and honest reply, really touched our hearts she unhesitatingly spoke the truth,’ No! I have not messaged her yet. But, Yes! I will do so very soon.”

Well! Mary Kom feels her extended professional/personal journey -owing to her achievements now and in future,’Mary Kom-Part 2 “can be produced and shown on the celluloid.?

Yes, why not .Marykom Part 1 a film which has depicted my journey is yet not complete .As after the release I have achieved a little more. And until I retire I will like to go on and on fulfilling my dreams. So Marykom –Part 2 can be shown on the celluloid.”

Well! Will you like to play yourself on the celluloid?

Why not? I can try…to act having said that -   it will all depend on the producer and director to cast someone better from among the actresses. They might find someone suitable to play me in Mary-kom Part 2.”

Would you prefer Katrina Kaif? To this she gives her sincere reply,” Actually, I have no favorites. I love all the actors from Salman to Katrina and ll from within the Bollywood industry.. Undeniably, the director will always wish to portray his tale on celluloid to the best of his/her ability. Thus the choice of actor who could play Marykom will totally be the Director /Producers choice as I said.

Women are working in various field successfully, do we still need to be vocal about woman empowerment or do we still need to profess feminism?

To this Mary gives a befitting reply,” That is people’s  mind set .What you  know  and feel could be different to what I may  feel .Actually, the mental thought process of people could be different to what we have experienced and  practically achieved. We cannot change the mind set of one and all.”

Lastly Mary frankly agrees that one day when her body will refuse to allow her to participate in Sport she will have to retire?

Yes, Indeed when my body will not support me physically I will retire. But I will always be connected to Sport. I will be teaching the youth the importance of Sport by imparting the right kind of knowledge. I also plan to open an Institute in future. Playing any Sport is not winning but being healthy.” She concludes.
