I have seen countless marriages in the industry and some marriages have been grand successes and many have crashed against unexpected rocks . These thoughts come to my mind as I think about the latest star - marriage between two of the most popular stars of today , Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal .

They were both in the industry and they were both talented , but the industry never felt like teaming them up in any film , but they found themselves and during their one year long period of daring , they discovered each other and came to the solemn and holy decision that they were made for each other and that they could even live a life of togetherness till the end .....

As Vicky who is said to be five years younger than Katrina kept growing as a star and a very fine actor , Katrina zoomed to new heights of success and stardom.....

And then as if like a decision taken by destiny , they were said to be madly in love and ready to take the plunge and tie the knot and the industry and their fans were surprised and some couldn't believe that they were indeed prepared to get married.

Till about a month ago , there were rumours and loose talk about their getting married . In fact , some of Vicky's close relatives even said that the whole story was false and there was a lot of speculation even when there were hectic preparations being made for the big day .

The truth only came out when Vicky and Katrina took their flight to Jaipur and the venue of the marriage , the list of invitees and the very tight security made headlines in the media .

And on December 8 , the couple had a sangeet and mehndi ceremony with some of the best entertainers and the couple themselves performing .

And on December 9 , Vicky Kaushal and Katrina took the saat pheraas and become husband and wife at exactly 3:45 pm in the afternoon . The most exciting part of the sangeet ceremony which was even otherwise exciting was the cake which was designed in Delhi and prepared at the Six Senses hotel where the entire marriage ceremony took place .

It was made of some of the most expensive fruits and dry fruits and cost only four and a half lakh of rupees. And the other exciting thing was the extremely tight security handled by Tiger Security Services owned by Shera , the official security in charge of Salman Khan .

A grand reception followed at the same hotel and the couple was expected to fly to Maldives for their honeymoon , while talk about their marriage continued to be the favourite pastime of the media , the clubs and cafes and among housewives who had found the perfect subject to while away their time .

A grand reception is expected in Mumbai when the newly married couple comes back from their honeymoon .

Many will remember December 9 as the day when one of the most tragic accidents shook up the nation . But for Vicky and Katrina December 9 will always be the day when they swore to be one in their journey through life .
