Mega-star Deepika Padukone and family down with Corona, but recovering

Bollywood mega-star actress Deepika Padukone has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently in Bengaluru with her family - Chaitanya Padukone

Meanwhile, Deepika’s father ( former world badminton champ) Prakash Padukone, mother Ujjala and sister Anisha have also tested positive for the virus.

All of them are undergoing medical treatment and are recovering steadily, according to sources connect with the Padukone family.

It may be recalled that some days ago, the tall, svelte stunning 'Piku' actress posed with her maverick style-icon actor husband Ranveer Singh outside the Mumbai airport when the duo were flying out to Bengaluru to spend some quality time with Padukone's family.

Curiously, there is ‘no news’ shared on ‘Gully Boy’ Ranveer Singh and his latest health status. But as they say, generally, ‘no news is good news’ !

Earlier on Tuesday, her father, world-level badminton icon Prakash Padukone had to be admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru after he reported high fever.

Currently, Prakash is under treatment for corona virus and is recovering and is likely to be discharged from the hospital by this Sunday.

Off-screen, Deepika Padukone, who is passionately involved in causes towards mental health care, had recently shared a few mental health helpline contact links and info-details on her social media account.

"As millions of us (me and my family included) strive to stay afloat, let us not forget that our emotional well-being in this current crisis, is equally important! Remember, You Are Not Alone.

We are in this Together. And most importantly, there is Hope," Deepika had written in her post.

Recently, the Chhapaak actress was again in the news as she had quit (resigned) as ‘Chairperson’ of MAMI the film-festival organization.

Clarified Deepika, "Being on the board of MAMI and serving as Chairperson has been a deeply enriching experience.

As an artist it was invigorating to bring together cinema and talent from all over the world to Mumbai, my second home.

I have come to realise however, that with my current slate of work, I will be unable to give MAMI the undivided focus and attention it requires.

I depart knowing that MAMI is in the best hands possible and that my bond and connection with the academy is one that will last a lifetime."

Career-wise, lead actress Deepika will next be seen in cricket-centric period movie 83, opposite husband Ranveer Singh.

She is also awaiting the release of Shakun Batra's next. The yet-to-be-titled film also stars Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles.

She will also be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan in Siddharth Anand's next upcoming film Fighter.

She is currently also working on upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathan, which also stars John Abraham in a lead role.
