His kind of dance and music had become a craze all over the world and their were fans who were willing to kill each other to buy tickets to his shows. But he was not satisfied with the unbelievable success he had achieved. He did not have many close friends, but the one he was very close to was Rajoo Patel, a well known distributor of Hindi films, world over. Jackson got close to Patel and he even bece a part of Rajoo's family which included his wife Dimple Patel, who was the eldest daughter of Jubilee Kumar, Rajendra kumar. He spent several evenings with the family and loved Indian films. One evening he told Rajoo that he was wanting to make a Hindi film and the way they were made in Mumbai. They had several meetinga, but before Jackson's dream could come true, Rajoo died in his early forty's and was followed by his friend Micheal Jackson. His music and dance however are still a craze among the youth of India and actors like Mithoon Chakraborty became stars by trying to imitate him. Mithoon, in fact was so enamoured by Jackson that he named his first son Mimoh which was a combination of two of his favourites , Michael Jackson and the boxer Mohammed Ali. Dimple Patel who now lives in Bombay has vivid memories of Jackson and shudders when she thinks about what Jackson's body was reduced to,all his organs were damaged and he was just a bundle of bones. Among the other stars and celebrities from abroad who one the hearts of the people of Bombay were Mohammed Ali , Mohammed Ali and Zeba from Pakistan and Runa Laila from Bangladesh. The most classic example of stars from outside falling for an Indian star was when a French delegation of stars and filmmakers visited Bombay and there only ambition was to meet Rekha, who name they couldn't pronounce. I arranged a meeting for them with Rekha at the Film City where she was shooting for "Utsav". She had an hour long meeting with them in English and they were so enamoured by her that they all unanimously said she should have been in Hollywood. Mohammed Ali was also completely bowled over by Rekha and only kept looking at her at the Sun and Sand hotel. As a parting shot during a meeting with the French delegation, Rekha asked them if they had heard about Amitabh Bachchan and when they showed their ignorance, she said, " if you don't know and have not met Amitabh Bachchan, you know nothing about Indian cinema." Manoj Kumar had invited the veteran actors of Pakistan, the husband and wife team of Mohammed Ali and Zeba and had built a special cottage for them attached to his bungalow and cast them as husband and wife in his film "Clerk" . The film was Manoj's biggest disaster and the couple went back. For more Bollywood updates, follow Bollyy!
