Vinod Mehra's sudden death after a massive heart attack however ended all talk about their love story and then began the most passionate and talked about love story between Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha which led to the transformation and metamorphosis of Rekha and the love story also ended after "Silsila" which was according to Yash Chopra , the director of Silsila a take off on the real life story of Amitabh Jaya and Rekha

Rekha had an unfortunate short as short could be marriage with a young businessman called Mukesh Agarwal from Delhi who committed suicide a few days after marying Rekha and Rekha surprised and even shocked many when she reported for the shooting of K C Bokadia's " Phool Bane Angaarey" in Udaipur

There are people who still swear that Amitabh and Rekha are very much in love and they have their own reasons to come to their conclusions, but being a seasoned lover I can vouch for their being in love when I see them at functions and award ceremonies where they are very conscious and aware of each other and how the world around them is set on fire when their eyes meet even for a moment which becomes eternal , if that moment is not a witness to love , I don't know what is.
