Mou Das On What She Is Doing This Diwali

Diwali is all about new beginnings for producer Mou Das, who is busy producing her web film 'Game On' under her banner Kite Runner Pictures. “Diwali is one of the most popular festivals celebrated and it’s also Hindu New Year which means new beginnings. Diwali being the Festival of Lights enlightens our consciousness and knowledge to reconcile all the ups and downs, good or bad in our lives and have a positive approach,” she says.

The producer will be spending time with her family this Diwali. “For Diwali, I am going to my hometown Ranchi and then Kolkata where my relatives are. They missed me during Durga Puja, so I need to compensate for that this time. Festivals mean gatherings, family, friends, food, gifts so I am going to enjoy all of it,” she says.

Diwali has always meant so much to her. “If you ask me which Diwali Diwali was most memorable, I don’t know what to say as I enjoy this festival to fullest every year. All I can say is that the Diwali on which I bought my first car was memorable,” she says.

As a producer, Mou feels that festivals are a great way to engage the audience in stories and sequences. “ During the festival sequences, audience visualise something which is larger than life and then the twists and turns incorporated also keep them engaged. It’s a great time to rope in more eyeballs,” she says.

Meanwhile, the producer is busy with her web film. “As a maker, I am very contented with the progress of my web film ‘Game On’. We have started our pre-production and it’s going on floors next month,” she says.
