Satish Kaushik plays a strict father in the film, with a strong gender bias against educating daughters. The film sets out to show how the father Jayadev Chaudhary , played by Satish Kaushik, wants a son in the family so that he can take forward his vansh. But he does not expect at all even in his wildest dream that the same daughter, played with aplomb by Rashmi Somvanshi, will become an IPS officer. It’s an emotional father-daughter story. The best thing about the heartwarming film is that it has been shot in Karnal and Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, with 90% of actors and support staff hailing from Haryana.

It is a film which revolves around a girl who fights against gender bias in the society, especially that of her father, to become an IPS officer. Though it does seem quite stereotyped, in a country that has sexism ingrained in its very roots, stories like these must continue to be told, as they succeed to hit the right emotional chord in the viewer’s hearts. While Satish Kaushik is first rate as far as his sterling performance is concerned, Aniruddh Dave (of the TV serial Patiala Babes fame), who plays Vikas, the protagonist’s love interest impresses you with his earnest portrayal of the boy who stands by his lady love. Jaanvi Sangwan as the protagonist’s mother shines in her performances, while the rest of the actors try to resort to melodrama at its worst.

I’d say that this small Haryanvi film that sets out to accentuate the bitter-sweet father-daughter relationship throws light on Haryana's gender inequality and is an emotional film, which is based on a true story about sex discrimination, which is still predominant in a big way in Haryana and despite strict laws being in place, the female foetuses are aborted in Haryana in thousands even today and if and when a girl is born, she faces inequality, because men are valued more than women in society.

See this film with its stereo typed screenplay though it has its own short-comings including a moth eaten screenplay and reminds you of Aamir Khan’s Dangal which was also on women empowerment, just for its earnestness and sincerity.
