Disjointed and Banal!

The film is set in Mathura and revolves around the poverty-stricken life of a middle aged poor priest Pandit Girdhari Lal (Sanjay Mishra), a priest who believes religion and politics shouldn’t marry. The 55-year-old guy who wants to escape his family legacy of becoming a priest and aspires to become a storyteller instead starts living off his school teacher daughter Radha’s (Kajal Jain) salary and finds himself in a tight spot when he has to get his daughter hitched with Gopal (Mahesh Sharma). Unable to secure the required funds, he resorts to get his son Banwari (Chandrachoor Rai) married off to the highest bidder. What follows is a series of unfortunate events which land him in jail. The film sets out to drive the message home that every human being has dreams and aspirations and spend their entire lives trying to achieve those dreams, but the reality is, that for most people, dreams remain dreams.

Though the premise is brilliant and is about a father’s inability to provide for his daughter’s special day, it fails to warm the cockles of your heart with its feeble screenplay and atrocious dialogues. There is nothing redeeming in the film and you weep for Sanjay Mishra who has carved himself as an actor who can dabble in a bewildering range of films as his comic and dramatic talents are wasted in this random and incoherent film. Kajal Jain is promising. Brajendra Kala and Mukesh Tiwari are good.

The worst thing about the film is that not only the film is disjointed and banal but also the satire on the arranged marriage system in India also fails to deliver. To sum up, as the film has been shoddily executed, Pawan Kumar Sharma will find the climb very steep for the film at the box office
