A Travesty of the first order!

A dental surgeon (Rajpal Yadav) gets into a tiff with a local gangster (Vinay Pathak)  who later turns out to be his daughter`s future father-in-law, and therefore his relation too. Mr. Black Mr. White is a comedy flick with an ensemble cast of comedians who supposedly promise to take you on a laugh riot, but falls flat in the process, making you squirm in your seats with a constipated look.

Just in case, you’re curious to know what actors of the caliber of Sanjay Mishra, Vinay Pathak, Manoj Joshi, Mutli Sharma etc are up to in this zany and brain testing film, please be warned that even they don’t seem to know what they’re doing. Mr Pathak deserves his unchallenged title of Ham No. 1.

Vinay Pathak is okay as Romeo. In the role of Dr. Bandopadhyay, Rajpal Yadav’s comedy is quite entertaining and 8in fact steals the show with his various get ups. Sanjay Mishra does a fair job as Dharam. Vijay Raaz does quite well as police inspector Vijay. Manoj Joshi (as Buddha), Resham Tipnis (as Sharda, wife of Dr. Bandopadhyay), Murali Sharma (as J.T.), the late Razzak Khan (as Mashgul), Hemant Pandey and Suresh Menon , who plays a gay cop, lend adequate support.

Raj Bharath N.S. has directed this film which tests your patience right from the beginning to the end besides penning a senseless story with neither a head nor a tail, with the sole aim of including comedy scenes. His screenplay is extremely irritating because there is no meaning in the drama. Yes, some comic scenes are funny but a cohesive plot and drama are missing. Sandeep Nath’s dialogues are way below ordinary.

Anand Raaj Anand’s music is hardly hummable except for one song which is just about alright. Lyrics (Rahul Seth and Jayraj Selwan) are very ordinary. Raju Rao’s background music is dull. Sebastian AKN’s camerawork is okay. Prem Sharma’s action and stunts are just about passable. Raju Sapte’s art direction hardly deserves mention, while Nitin Rokde’s editing leaves a lot to be desired. On the whole, the film is nothing but a travesty of the first /worst order.
