The third part of the Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai franchise picks up from where the second one ended. The story revolves around their life after marriage and how their ‘well-planned’ life suffers a setback, albeit a welcome one, after they learn that they are going to be parents of not just one but twins.  The biggest asset of the film is undoubtedly the easy and crackling chemistry between the lead pair Swapnil Joshi and Mukta Barve, though the first part of the film had been released almost nine years ago.

The screenplay by itself is not much but the way director Satish Rajwade has tackled it holds your attention. Post marriage Gautam (Swapnil Joshi) and Gauri (Mukta Barve) are in a comfortable zone, personally as well as professionally. Their ‘well-planned’ life suffers a setback when they learn that they are going to be parents. From then on, the film revolves around how their life and surroundings change.

A major drawback while watching the film is not only the unwanted animated baby narration, which is forcibly thrust on the audiences, but also the way the sub titles keep propping up to tell “there is background sound” or she is gargling her throat’ as if the audiences need spoon feeding every now and then. It is unnecessary and could’ve easily been done away with. Another drawback is that certain scenes seem stretched. It’s a problem because the viewer knows what is to follow and these scenes add absolutely no value at all to the experience.

Each and every actor, whether it is Swapnil Joshi or Mukta Barve or for that matter every character actor-Savita Prabhune, Suhas Joshi, Prashant Damle, Rohini Hattangadi or Vijay Kenkre. Content-wise, I should say that MPM 3 is hardly fresh with repetitive references to chilled beer. Besides the gradual progression in life of characters that we have loved in its earlier two parts, there is nothing new by Pallavi Rajwade, who has been credited with the story of the film. It will be a herculean task for the director to come up with a fourth part, unless and until he works hard
