Jyothi Venkatesh The film is neither a sequel nor a remake of Namaste London is a convoluted, illogical and contrived story of Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) and Param (Arjun Kapoor) whose love story cruises along different places from Punjab to Dhaka to Paris to Brussels to finally London. Param and Jasmeet fall in love and they get married, but their perfect romance gets disturbed by Jasmeet’s suppressed ambition to go to London so that she can pursue her career as a jewellery designer and build a better life for herself. Param isn’t able to get a visa and that creates some high drama in their love life. The same director Vipul Amrutlal Shah's 2007 film had Arjun Singh (Akshay Kumar) winning the love of Jasmeet (Katrina Kaif); though the second installment has Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) and Param Singh (Arjun Kapoor), madly in love with each other, but trying to fight a minor glitch in their love story, which does not really connect to you in any way whatsoever. Alankrita Sahai as Alisha is impressive In a desperate attempt to draw empathy for the sorry lives of illegal immigrants, this clichéd and confusing film also has a side track about those illegal immigrants cooped up in dimly-lit rooms who get to see their children only through video calls. Arjun Kapoor is just about okay in the central role though his character lacks the backbone as the protagonist while Parineeti Chopra hardly impresses with her oscillating mind. The sparkling chemistry evident in their first outing together Ishaqzaade is lacking in this one. Satish Kaushik is passable. You end up neither sympathizing with the actors or empathize with them. Direction by Vipul Shah is unfortunately rudderless. The film is contrived and illogical though it tries to deal with the sensitive issue of women empowerment.
