Movie Review of “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect”, It is a complete package of Drama and Emotions By Team Bollyy 01 Jul 2022 | Updated On 01 Jul 2022 12:33 IST in Features Reviews New Update Follow Us Share INTRO Ever since the theaters reopened after the COVID-19 attacked the whole nation, makers and actors from Bollywood Industry are releasing their projects day after day. In today’s time actors and directors like to make a movie in different genres like Action, Drama, Suspense, Thriller, Biopic, Fiction and others, every year many movies get released in the theaters but only few of them are able to create their magic on the Box Office. As we all know from the Beginning of this year only South movies are doing good at Box office and Bollywood movies are failing to create the magic and ever since then there is a debate going on South Movies V/S Bollywood movies. Movies like Samrat Prithviraj which stars Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn starrer Runway 34, Ranveer Singh Starrer 83 & Jayeshbhai Jordaar and many other high budget movies got miserably flop which featured Bollywood’s big actors. Amidst this, another blockbuster and Heart touching movie is released today, I am talking about the most talented actor of Bollywood R. Madhavan’s “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect”. Story As we all know, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a Biopic on the Indian Aerospace Scientist Nambi Narayanan who served at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He is also behind the successful attempt of launching the satellite Mangalyaan to mars in 2014 in its first attempt. If we talk about the story, the movie starts with a one on one Interview session between R Madhavan and Shah Rukh Khan (who is playing a cameo in the movie) where the Nambi Narayanan (role played by R. Madhavan) shares his past experiences and struggles. Before Interval we will get to see his passion and love towards the liquid fuel engine for rockets, we will get to see how he went to Princeton University, New Jersey from ISRO to study about the liquid fuel engine. He got admission in the Solid fuel engine department but later he transferred himself into the liquid fuel engine department. After completing his studies NASA also offered him to work with them but he turned down the offer and returned to ISRO because he was truly patriotic. We will also get to see how he goes to France on a secret mission with 52 other scientists to study liquid fuel engines for rockets because ISRO did not have sufficient funds at that time. After learning the technique from France, ISRO funded Nambi Narayanan 1 Crore rupees for making a rocket engine. He took 8 years to make an engine for 60 lakhs and with his magic he beat all other engines including France's ones and created a history with his engine. Later he named the engines as “VIKAS” in the name of his Guru “Vikrant A Sarabhai”. After Interval, we will get to see the whole story focused on how to build a Cryogenic engine to launch satellites because every other powerful country had that technique except INDIA at that time. While sharing the past experience and struggles during that Interview, many times the story will go into Background as well. We will also get to see how cops tried their level best to prove Nami Narayan as a traitor, during this case citizens from Kerala also went against him, boycotted him and his family and also protested against them, due to which Nambi and his family face a lot of problems for living. Acting & Direction This masterpiece is written, directed and produced by R. Madhavan himself, he has done a fantastic job to make a movie on this concept because it is a very important story which needs to be told. R. Madhavan has perfectly molded Nambi Narayanan’s life and struggle story into a very heart touching way. If we talk about the acting then R. Madhavan once again proved himself by giving a stellar performance in the movie. Other supporting characters have also done justice to their roles. If we talk about the character of Nambi’s wife Meena Nambi played by Rishibala Naval aka Simran has given a spectacular performance. Conclusion There are very few movies made in Bollywood which can make us feel proud of our nation or on the Sacrifices made by people to make our nation feel pride and this movie is one of them. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is one kind of a movie which cannot be expressed into words, one has to watch it to feel it. This movie is a complete package of a well written script, direction, acting, emotions and drama. This movie surely gets 4.5 out of 5 stars.
