After the self-pleasuring scene of Swara Bhaskar in the film 'Veere Di Wedding' released in 2015, there has been a trend of serving such scenes in the name of women's equality. Veere Di Wedding also featured four adult women who seemed to be suffering from 'ecstasy'. Now there are four adult women in the film 'Thank You for Coming', but one of them is Kanika Kapoor, who keeps complaining that even though she has kissed many frogs in her life, none of them could become her prince.

Story:

The story starts with Kanika Kapoor (Bhumi Pednekar) when she was studying in school. Her mother Ruby (Natasha Rastogi) is an unmarried mother and a doctor but prefers to be called 'Ms.'  Kanika Kapoor had earned the title of 'Gandu Kanika' due to her antics during her school days. Now after crossing the age of thirty, she has become a 'food blogger'. But apart from one dialogue, Kanika does not show anything like this through her actions throughout the film. Kanika lives in Delhi with her mother Ruby and maternal grandmother Kishori. Kanika (Bhumi Pednekar) has a never-ending quest for orgasm. Kanika has had relationships with many men till now, but she has never experienced orgasm. On the other hand, the industrialist who is in love with Kanika has rejected six relationships in his life so far. There is a self-centered lover (Karan Kundra), and also a gay boy (Sushant Divgikar) in the film. The one who spends the night with Kanika is Professor (Anil Kapoor), who keeps trying to woo women by saying 'Gulzar is my friend'. Kanika's friends include Rushi (Shehnaz Gill), (Dolly Singh) and (Shibani Bedi).

Review:

The film does nothing but torture the audience while narrating the story of the search for self-pleasure and orgasm. This film is such that we cannot even call it a sex comedy. The biggest unbelievable point in the story of this film is that all of them are above 30 years of age. We believe that women's desires need to be addressed head-on, but how? Every filmmaker will have to think about this. The script and dialogue are very poor. Kanti Shah used to make such silly films in the eighties and nineties, which people used and liked to watch secretly. People used to consider them as second-class and semi-porn films. After the advent of the internet, people have started talking openly about sex, but is it necessary to talk about it in such bad ways..? Can women be presented on the screen in any form in the name of women's freedom? isn’t that wrong? There is so much vulgar language and obscene scenes in this film that it would not be appropriate to mention them here. It feels like watching a porn film. How does the censor board pass such scenes? It is surprising to see this.

In the name of the demand of the story, the scene of Bhumi Pednekar being completely naked on the screen is not acceptable. The truth is that this film, based on the modern thinking of women regarding sex, somehow insults the modern thinking of women. Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor have also worked to defame feminism in this film. At no point does the film dwell on the plight of a single mother. At the center of the entire film is the quest for the sexual pleasure of a girl who has crossed the age of thirty. This film seems to advise every girl to become an unmarried mother. Wow, equality… wow women's freedom…

Acting:

As far as acting is concerned, this film signals the end of actress Bhumi Pednekar's career. She looked very useless in the film. Her make-up etc. is very dirty. It is disgusting to see their actions. What Kusha Kapila and Shehnaaz Gill were thinking while doing this film is beyond comprehension? Anil Kapoor understands the compulsion to act in this film to support his daughter Rhea. The acting of other actors is just fine.
