If Mahesh Bhatt signs up for an acting project, one must truly wonder why would a veteran filmmaker even want to act after spending decades in this industry. But when you watch The Dark Side of Life: Mumbai City, you realise that it is not just some run-of-the-mill social drama, it is indeed a benchmark in itself in delivering a gripping story surrounding a social issue making it eligible to be at the top of your movie watchlist this weekend. A tale exposing the shocking reality of the metro cities, The Dark Side of Life: Mumbai City is a multi plotted story which revolves around the lives of seven individuals who are pushed to the brink of depression while battling their emotional and financial problems. In this age of widespread gloomy feeling and depressed minds around, it is a socially relevant drama for the current times. Director Tariq Khan has done a tremendous job bringing out the best out of the ensemble cast,

especially Mr. Mahesh Bhatt and Kay Kay Menon, and knitting the varied life stories together making it a feast for the theatre lover in you. Overall I give this film 2 stars out of 5
