After a long break, Kamal Hasan’s most awaited film Viswaroop 2 is on the floor, which is the sequel of film Vishwaroopam released 5 years ago.
This time he is the film producer, writer, director and actor. This film starts exactly from the point where it left in the first part and the story is based on the same plot ‘terrorism’ but Kamal Hasan is not able to match the level as he did earlier.
The Storyline
following the story RAW agent Wasim Ahmad Kashmiri (Kamal Hasan), is returning after the completion of Al Qaeda mission with his wife Nirupama (Pooja Kumar) and agent Asmita (Andrea Jeremiah). But again he has to indulge in the agent game to demolish the plans of terrorist Qureshi (Rahul Bose). In this mission his wife and karnal Jagannath (Shekhar Kapoor) supports him. In this mission, Wasim is attacked by the terrorist many time but as the hero has to live till the end the end he got saved every time. But his agent Asmita dies. He came to know Umar and his team is going to plant bombs at 64 places on the 64th Independence Day. They kidnap Wasim and his mother (Waheeda Rehman) who is suffering from Alzheimer and orders Wasim to surrender. Later Wasim rescues the nation and smashes their mission with his intelligence.
We felt like due to so many responsibilities on one shoulder Kamal Hasam missed the thrill of story and dialogues are too heavy. Film's first part is steady but it grips the attention of the audience after the interval. But the story is very confusing and the audience is not able to figure out what is going on. The action is good. Music is simple and doesn’t leave a mark in our hearts.
As Kamal Hasan is very expressive he used his skills very well in the film. Especially his scenes with Waheeda Rehman is a scene to remember. His experience is visible in the film and presents himself as no less than a Hollywood action hero. The small fights between Jeremiah & Pooja will make you smile both were good in their roles. It was good to see Rahul Bose, Wahida Rehman and Shekhar Kapoor on the screen after a long time.
