Mujhko yaaro maaf karo, mujhse galti ho gayi - Khiladi Kumar... BY Ali Peter John
New Update

At no other time has Akshay Kumar, also known as Khiladi Kumar been in so many controversies as he has been during the last 3-4 years and especially after the BJP government has taken over and Mr Modi is the prime minister - Ali Peter John

The latest and raging controversy is about his endorsing a product known as Vimal ilaichi and he must have naturally taken a huge price for it.

But to his bad luck, his followers and well wishers and even common netizens have taken to the endorsement negatively and have been slamming him mercilessly for the last 3-4 days. The general opinion is that a fitness freak like Khiladi Kumar should not have done an ad which is associated with tobacco.

The ad also has Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgan in it, but their scenes have been shot in some remote country and the trolls have not noticed them so seriously as they have noticed Akshay and the social media is flooded with attacks on Akshay.

It is these attacks that have made Akshay have disturbed and sleepless nights and has made him finally come up with a public apology in print with a very emotional heading which says, "I am sorry" and the rest of his Emotional plea goes as follows.....

Akshay wrote, “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back.

I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes."

I don't mean to sound insulting to Akshay who I have seen taking his first steps as an actor when my friend Pramod Chakravarthy gave him his first break in 'Deedar', but i must say that this public apology sounds very childish. Didn't he know that endorsing a tobacco product was not in the right spirit and was even very harmful?

Didn't he know that the company which made him endorse the product would take all the advantage of him ? What does he mean by saying that the ad will continue till his terms with the company continues ?

Does it mean that the harm can be done for his good and for the continuing harm of those who get inspired by his endorsing the product and using it till they get harmed ? And what does he now mean when he says that he will now be careful in all his further choices of endorsements ?

And the last line of the apology in which he asks for the love and best wishes of the people doesn't need anything to be said. How this practice of stars from Bollywood will end, will be seen after happens to the case of the Khiladi Kumar.

Incidentally, the vimal tobacco ad was also offered to the Pushpa star Allu Arjun, but he refused to do it for fame, love or money and this rule goes for all the south stars like Prabhas, Ajeet kumar, Jr NTR, Ramcharan and even the female stars Nayantara, Rashmita mandana and Pooja hegde.

They have all been receiving very tempting offers both from Mumbai and from the south but they have still to fall for the temptation. Will they with the kind of popularity and success they have received in the last few months change and fall for the temptations ? That is what time will see.
