Mukesh Bhishma Pitamaha Khanna Asks Doordarshan Retro Channel To Stop Telecasting His Popular Serial Shaktimaan Every Day At 4 Pm

The popular serial Shaktimaan produced by Mukesh Khanna has been entertaining the viewers’ right from the time the lockdown started in times of coronavirus way back in April on Doordarshan. And egged on by the popularity of the show, Doordarshan authorities had started retelecasting the show in their DD Retro channel for the last month or so. If you think that Mukesh Khanna is more than pleased with this decision of Doordarshan as it means that he is entitled to a lot of mileage on the electronic channel, you are sadly mistaken.

However, when I wished Mukesh Khanna on the birthday of the show Shaktimaan and congratulated the actor-producer as recently as September 13^th on Doordarshan Retro channel having stated telecasting his popular show so that people who had missed out on the earlier episodes on Doordarshan can easily catch up with the show, he was happy, but I was shocked when from Monday last Doordarshan Retro all of a sudden stopped the telecast of the show. When I asked him what the problem was, Mukesh told me that he had actually asked Doordarshan Retro to stop the telecast, because they were not paying anything extra to him for this additional telecast.

Now Doordarshan Retro has started telecasting two old serials Maa Shakti and Surbhi place of Shaktimaan on the channel Doordarshan Retro from this Monday onwards at 4 pm and 4.30 pm though they continue to telecast Shaktimaan on Doordarshan National as usual at 6 pm as a result of which the viewer can see Mukesh Khanna only one every day instead of twice. All the episodes of Shaktimaan of the entire week are also being telecast back to back on every Sunday on Doorarshan National every week from 1 to 5 pm, in case you miss out on any particular episode of Shaktimaan
