Mumbai City Mayor Honours  Celeb-Singer Anup Jalota ---Will Be Seen As ‘School-Teacher’ In Period Bio-Pic

Globally renowned concert-playback singer-actor-movie-producer ‘Padma Shri’ Anup Jalota will soon be recording a special title-song with a social message, for an upcoming web-series ‘Kalyug Ke Rishtey’  composed by Raja Ali, lyrics by Nawab Arzoo  and produced by Cinema AajTak.  “ Since past several years, the digital era has taken over and it’s a ‘apne-mutthi-mein-gyaan-manoranjan’ for everyone on their cell-phones. Which is why I am associating with this engaging web-series and some more digital projects,” explains the jovial Jalota who was recently honoured by the Mumbai city Mayor Kishori Pednekar in the presence of  Mumbai-based Shiv Sena party senior political dignitaries including  Hon’ble State Minister Anil Parab and M.P. Gajanan Kirtikar and revered cultural-literary icon  ‘Padma Vibhushan’ Shivshaahir Babasaheb Purandare . In fact, charismatic singer Anup was urged to briefly perform a few ‘live’  devotional songs at the Shiv Sena mega-cultural event where he was accompanied by charming pop-performer-playback-singer Leena Bose for the duets. “

To be honored in public  by such eminent dignitaries, was a graceful gesture and it was heartening to know from the ‘Mumbai Mayor’ Kishori-jee,   that she is an ardent fan of my vocal repertoire,” smiled Anup who frequently hit the news-headlines during his controversial ‘Bigg Boss’-12  “scripted” romantic stint with his glamorous pop-singer-young-student Jasleen Matharu. Fond of occasional screen-appearances as himself or in characters,  Anup informed me that he was  shooting in Lucknow for the historical movie ’Mughalsarai Junction’ based on  the intriguing life of iconic political leader ‘late’ Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.    Discloses Jalota,  “ It’s a challenging de-glam realistic period role, Where I am playing young Pt. Deendayal ’s paatth-shaala teacher. While shooting I had to keep in mind the shudh-bhaasha of that period-era, the correct expressions and restrained  mannerisms . My ardent fans love to see me experimenting on screen with different looks, ”smiles affable Anup, who will soon be flying to the U.K. (England) for his upcoming live concerts in Leicester and London.
