Munawar Faruqui beats Payal Rohatgi to win Kangana Ranaut's show 'Lock Up'

Standup comedian Munawwar Farooqui has finally won the 70 -day long reality show 'Lock Up', he has been given a check of Rs 20 lakh and a new car from 'Lock Up' by filmmaker Ekta Kapoor and actress Kangana Ranaut, he was crowned the winner of the show and was accompanied by Payal Rohatgi, Anjali Arora, Azam Falah and Shivam Sharma in the show.

Unlike other reality shows, the winner of ' Lock Up ' was not only determined by popular vote but also by host Kangana Ranaut and in the end the winner was chosen by their approval mark, the first and second runners-up were Payal Rohatgi and Anjali Arora who were defeated by Munawar Faruqui and became the winner of the show.

Let us tell you that in the initial days of the show there was a lot of heated debate between Ranaut and Munawar on their political views and life ideologies but looks like their disagreement certainly didn't stop the show's celebrity presenter from crowning them the winner.

Munawar has gained a lot of sympathy by portraying himself as a boy from Dongri Chawl in 'Lock Up', one who had experienced poverty, he also spoke on the show about his mother's suicide, the breakdown of marriage and how he was allegedly sexually abused as a child.

Farooqui arrived on the show after his controversy, according to a report, last year he was jailed for a month for insulting Hindu deities during one of his shows, Many of his shows were canceled when he was released on bail. The comedian later said in a statement that he was imprisoned for a joke. He also hinted at ending his comic career.
